ADC Alliance

Infrastructure

ADC Alliance is built on a strong mix of resources. Inside CPACE we have a team that knows how to manage data integrations, build AI tools and connect them to real‑world clinical workflows. We also partner with top companies in the industry, bringing in cutting‑edge technology. Together, this gives us the breadth and flexibility to quickly design, test and roll out new solutions.

University Resources and Supporting Teams

CPACE

CPACE’s core areas of research harness the latest AI to enhance everything from medical imaging to text and tabular data to improve diagnoses and workflow. CPACE’s hybrid model enables the use of preexisting AI tools along with CPACE’s own unique proprietary platforms that are transforming pathology and laboratory medicine AI needs for our researchers, clinicians, educators, trainees and patients.

The Digital Pathology Research Center

The Digital Pathology Research Center (DPRC) works closely with CPACE at Pitt/UPMC. DPRC provides input data using a wide variety of digital files and various formats to develop and test AI models. Together with CPACE, DPRC is also poised to embark on AI-based studies to improve the quality of digital pathology slides.

Image Analysis Laboratory

The Pathology Image Analysis Laboratory aims to advance the analysis and interpretation of clinical images through innovative techniques and technologies. Its mission is to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes by integrating state-of-the-art image analysis tools into clinical workflows.

The Collaborative Pathology

The Office of Collaborative Pathology (OCP) aims to facilitate clinical trials and other research endeavors with academic and clinical partners. OCP provides administrative assistance, project management and ensures compliance with institutional review board, legal and ethical guidelines.

Technology Partners

Dell

In conjunction with CPACE’s AI initiatives, ADC Alliance will be powered by Dell Technologies servers and data storage systems to analyze medical images and data on a large scale. A grant from Dell through a partnership with CPACE and Pitt Digital will help the center expand AI tools already in development and create new applications.

PathPresenter

PathPresenter is an enterprise image management and workflow platform for digital pathology. The platform is secure, scalable and vendor-agnostic, able to integrate into hospitals and research infrastructure. DPRC can digitize vast amounts of pathology slides. Scanned whole slide images can be anonymized and used to support any kind of educational work, as well as shared with others to facilitate remote and interactive learning via PathPresenter.
